October Aerial Festivities!

A WEEKEND OF AERIAL WORKSHOPS, FLYING TRAPEZE, ACROBATICS & CIRQUE DU SOLEIL!

SAT (10/7) 12:00-2:00 PM - SILKS THEORY

Examine the underpinnings of silks to understand why silks works the way it does. For example, which locks are related, what is making a lock work, how many different locks there are, etc. Once we understand silks as a whole system, we can create and re-find skills from a place of understanding instead of just memorization in addition to creating transitions as we understand how skills relate and blend in to each other. These concepts also help you recognize what you are seeing another aerialist or student do even if you have not ever been presented with it before.

  • Pre-requisites: Climb proficiently, invert in-air smoothly, and be able to do a pull up.
  • Early-bird Cost (Before 9/1): $40 per person | Regular Cost (After 9/1): $50 per person
  • Location: Inversions Circus Center in Chattanooga, TN
  • Instructor: Amy Powell

SAT (10/7) 4:00-6:00 PM - AERIAL PUZZLES

Solving puzzles as a way to expand our silks vocabulary, tap into our own creativity, and solve everyday performance problems. We may solve something basic like a way to get higher in the silks without resorting to a climb....or we may do something that stretches your creativity and gives you new moves to play with like getting from hip key to a double crochet (set up for drops like front balance) as many different ways as we can find. In this workshop, puzzles are presented to solve, participants devise individual solutions, then discuss, share, and work on them as a group. Instructor-devised solutions to the puzzles are also presented.
