Kate’s aerial journey began in 2014 when she took her first aerial silks class in Florida & her childhood circus dreams came true. Aerial arts quickly became an obsession & soon, she was taking multiple classes a week. She started performing in 2015 & teaching in 2016. Kate has taught silks, her favorite apparatus, as well as trapeze, rope, hammock, web, triple trapeze & lyra. Kate has also trained flying trapeze, straps & cloud swing.
Kate applies her education in science to her teaching techniques. Focusing on theory & ensuring students understand the breakdown of the tricks & how to use proper body mechanics. Her science mind helps to uncover hurdles a student may have & problem solve for a solution. She loves to see students take ownership of the tricks. “I don’t want my students to be order takers". Kate loves to see students unlock new skills, & overcome things they have been struggling with. She is always trying to learn & grow & has taken workshops & private lessons from some of the best in the aerial world, including: Sarah Romanowsky, Christian Sanchez, Sarah Dawn, Liza Rose, Waverly, Karina Silva, Sasha Harrington, Marina Luna, Aaron Koz & William Pages.
Kate is also a performer, everything from private events to theater stages. She has choreographed routines for herself as well as students for competitions & group show routines. She loves when the drama of a song & a skill come together, as if meant to be, making the crowd go wild!
